Greetings Class of 1998!
In preparation for Reunion Weekend, we wanted to give you all the details for the weekend and answer any last minute questions. The committee has worked very hard over the past 6 months to coordinate some exciting and memorable events for our class and this is shaping up to be a weekend for the ages.

Friday, May 16th
2:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Registration. The hospitality suite at the Westin will be open for complimentary drinks for registered classmates and for you to pick up your “Welcome Packet” which will include the following items:
· Gala and Party tickets/wristbands (orange wristband – Friday; green wristband – Saturday)
· T-shirt (ONLY if you ordered a reunion package)
· Nametag
· Directions to all Class of 1998 events
· Directions to the Class of 1998 BBQ (an extra event being hosted by local classmates)
· Gala drink tickets for Earlybird registrations only
· Class of 1998 Reunion CD for Gala attendees only
***You will also be able to pick up your “Welcome Packet” at the registration table before and during the Gala.
***Spelman Ladies will pick up their “Welcome Packets” at the conclusion of the class meeting at Spelman on Friday afternoon. If you are unable to attend the class meeting, you may pick up your “Welcome Packet” from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the hospitality suite at the Westin or at the Gala registration table.
***Morehouse Saturday arrivals may pick up “Welcome Packets” at the class meeting on campus.
***Spelman Saturday arrivals may pick up “Welcome Packets” during the hospitality suite hours from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
7:30 PM – 8:15 PM: ’98 Power Hour & Silent Auction. This is your chance to network prior to the Gala and bid on items in the Silent Auction. BRING YOUR CHECKBOOKS WITH YOU! All proceeds will benefit both Morehouse College and Spelman College. We have several great items available to bid on including:
· Falcons' Tickets
· Alliance Theater Tickets
· X6 BMW Car Rental for the 2008 Spelman/Morehouse Homecoming Weekend
· Gift Certificates to an Athlete’s Foot, Fame, or Supreme athletic store
· An original framed painting by Calida Garcia Rawles, SC ’98
· And a variety of other exciting items
8:15 PM: ’98 Reunion Gala, Plaza Ballroom. Please arrive on time as the program portion will begin promptly at 8:30 p.m. The presidents of Spelman College and Morehouse College will be in attendance to give remarks. There will be a Cash Bar only - Credit cards WILL NOT be accepted.
Please wear your nametag and orange wristband!!!!
Saturday, May 17th
11:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Official College Events on campus. Separate registration through the colleges required for some of these events. Check your college’s website for details.
2:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Reunion BBQ, sponsored by our Atlanta- area classmates. Adams Park (2300 Wilson Dr. SW, Atlanta, GA 30311). Please bring your favorite food or beverage. Plates will not be sold, however there will be donations accepted toward the class gifts.
10:00 PM – Until: Social Elite Saturday at Sugarhill Atlanta, 50 Upper Alabama Road (Kenny’s Alley at Underground Atlanta). All registered attendees who purchased a packet that included a party ticket or those who purchased individual party tickets will have their names on the list at the door AND should also wear the green wristband provided in your “Welcome Packet.” No wait in line, free admission all night if you have your wristband on and on the list!
Sunday, May 18th
8:00 AM: Morehouse College Commencement
11:30 AM: Farewell Brunch – Front Page News Midtown, 1104 Crescent Avenue. We will be in the main dining room. For those who prepaid for the brunch, everything is taken care of. For those who did not register for the brunch, you will be able to pay onsite.
4:00 PM: Spelman College Commencement
As a reminder, these events are being coordinated by the Morehouse-Spelman Class of 1998 Reunion Committee. They are designed to enhance your reunion experience. You must register with your respective college to attend college sponsored events.
Lastly, if you have not already made your donation toward the class gift, please do so by Thursday, May 15 at 5:00 p.m. It is important that we celebrate our 10-year reunion in the spirit of giving back to our beloved Spelman College and Morehouse College. The advancement of our colleges depends largely on our commitment to give back and support the academically and culturally rich institutions that have given so much to us. No amount is too small. It is our level of participation that is most important. Collectively, we can make a great contribution and statement to our colleges while investing in promising men and women who will strive for greatness and positively impact the world.
